CHOOSE A SUNSCREEN ACCORDING TO YOUR SKIN
Whether it's going to the beach, shopping, 'hanging out' with
friends or taking a walk with the family, whether the sky is bright or dark
clouds are hovering, sunscreen is an essential part of your daily life. Must be
an indispensable item. Be sure to use sunscreen on your skin before
leaving the house, so that you can protect your skin. The sun's dangerous
ultraviolet (UV) rays not only damage your skin, but also make it age
prematurely. In addition, there are some researches, which say that
ultraviolet rays falling directly on human skin cause cancer.
Using sunscreen is an
important part of your skin care routine. Sunscreens are available in the
market in many forms, such as lotions, gels, sticks, etc. SPF sunscreen is
one of them. Knowing so many types can make many women dizzy, but if you
love yourself and your skin, then this should not be a problem for you.
DO YOU KNOW
There are two types of
ultraviolet rays from the sun, UVB and UVA. When it comes to UVB, the SPF
rating of a sunscreen is checked for protection against it. SPF 30 is
considered to be a good and suitable rating considering the climate and heat of
Pakistan. After learning this, some women may even complain that they
don't get the protection they need despite using an SPF sunscreen with the
correct rating. One of the reasons for this could be that you are not
choosing the right amount of SPF sunscreen. We can give you a quick guide
on how much to use, and so the standard rule of thumb is that one ounce of
sunscreen is usually sufficient for your skin that is directly exposed to the
sun's rays. Like mouth, hands, arms, neck etc.
In such a situation, you
should either use a sunscreen with an SPF rating higher than 30 or increase the
amount of sunscreen to the current rating. Additionally, sunscreens have a
PA rating listed for protection against UVA rays. The more + signs next to
PA, the more protection the sunscreen will provide to your skin.
ONE MORE IMPORTANT THING
Sunscreens are also
available in spray and powder forms, but you should always opt for a
cream-based sunscreen. Spray and powder sunscreens contain nanoparticles,
which can be absorbed into your skin and blood vessels and cause health
problems. Also, if you're using sunscreen for walking and swimming, make
sure your sunscreen is water and sweat resistant.
SUNSCREEN INGREDIENTS
Before buying a sunscreen,
be sure to check its ingredients. Sunscreen often contains titanium
dioxide or zinc oxide, these ingredients protect human skin from the sun's
rays, but research has shown that both of these ingredients are actually
harmful to human skin. They cause changes in the color and tone of your skin,
which is not pleasant.
SUNSCREEN FOR CHILDREN
Children need sunscreen
just as much as adults. However, be careful when choosing sunscreen for
children. Children have sensitive skin and many ingredients in sunscreens
can cause allergic reactions in children. Use a sunscreen that is
specially formulated for children. Children's sunscreens should not
contain ingredients such as para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) and benzophenones. Now
there are also SPF clothes for children.
FOR ACNE PRONE SKIN
If you have oily or
acne-prone skin, using a water-based sunscreen is appropriate. A major
benefit of a water-based sunscreen on oily and acne-prone skin is that it
prevents fine lines and breakouts on your skin.
FOR DRY SKIN
Moisturizing sunscreens
are best for dry skin. Sunscreens with ingredients like lanolin, various oils
and silicone are best for this skin type.
