The story of Hazrat Adam and Bibi Hawa last episode
Description of the prohibited tree:
Maulana
Mufti Muhammad Shafi, Imam Qurtubi's famous and well-known commentary on the
Qur'an, "Tafseer Qurtubi", writes that "Allah the Almighty said
to Hazrat Adam and Eve, peace be upon them, that the fruits of Paradise are
leisurely." Keep using it. There will be no need to work hard to get them
and no worry that this food will run out or decrease. Pointing to a particular
tree, it was said not to go near it, the original purpose was not to eat its
fruit, but as an emphasis, the title was adopted as not to go near it, and the
meaning is that Do not go to it for food, which tree was this? The Holy Qur'an
has not specified it and its determination is not mentioned in any authentic
hadith.
Among
the Imams of Tafsir, some defined it as a wheat tree, some as a grape, some as
a fig tree, but what is left ambiguous by the Qur'an and Hadith, why is there
any need to define it? (Qasas al-Anbiya, page 49). It was narrated from Hazrat
Abu Musa Ash'ari that when Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) was brought down
from heaven to the earth, he was taught how to do everything and he was given
the fruits of heaven as food. May these present fruits of yours, in fact, be
from the fruits of their original Paradise. Yes, the only difference is that
they rot and the fruits planted in heaven will always be right. Hazrat Gabriel
(peace be upon him) used to train both of them on earth and taught them
everything. (Qassas Ibn Kathir, p. 44).
The origin of the greeting was from
Hazrat Adam:
It
was narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that the best day on which the sun rose is
Friday. Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) was born on this day. On the same day,
he was admitted to heaven. On that day he was expelled from Paradise. And the
Day of Judgment will also come on this day. (Jami-Tirmidhi, Hadith 488)
"Peace be upon you" in the world was first started by Abul Bashar,
Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him). It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that
the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “Allah created
Adam in His own image. His length was sixty cubits.
When
He had created them, He said: Go and greet the angels who are sitting and hear
how they respond to your greetings. Because this will be your and your
children's greetings. Adam (peace be upon him) went near the angels and said,
"Peace be upon you." The angels replied, "Peace be upon you, and
may God have mercy on him." They added, "Praise be to God." So,
whoever will go to heaven, will be according to the form and stature of Hazrat
Adam (peace be upon him). Since then, the stature of creation has decreased and
this process continues till now. (Sahih Bukhari Hadith No. 6227).
Spread peace among yourselves:
From
the above hadith of Sahih Bukhari, it is known that the words of ``Peace be
upon you'' was first presented to the angels by the order of Allah, and the
angels said, ``Peace be upon you. And Rahmatullah'' added. Salam is the motto
of Islam. This prayer word has great importance and excellence. It has been
repeatedly emphasized in the Quran and Hadith. Irshad-e-Bari is the Almighty,
translation: "O people! Those who believe, do not enter your homes until
you send greetings to your family.” (Surah Al-Nur, verse 27). He said in
another place in the same Surah Mubaraka, translation: "When you enter
your homes, greet your people" (Surat al-Nur, verse 61).
There is a hadith of Sahih
Bukhari, “Greet everyone. Whether you know him or not.'' Greet one
another. Make Salam common among you." Nowadays, it is common to see that
even in some educated families, instead of saying "As-salaam
Alaikum", good morning, good night, while the response is to accept and
live. The words have come into common use. Don't know if these are done as family
traditions or it is also a part of fashion.
There is no denying that these are very good prayer words, but
are they a substitute for ``Assalam Alaikum Warahmatullah''? Surely not. Yes,
they can be used after "As-salaam Alaikum". In fact, the importance
of "salaam" and its fruits require us to consciously organize this
Sunnah-e-Mutahira in our own lives and to keep emphasizing it to our friends,
relatives, subordinates and relatives. May Allah grant us the ability to follow
it. (Amen).
Effects of soil in the
descendants of Hazrat Adam:
Allama
Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Saad al-Basri in his well-known book "Taqabat
Ibn Sa'd" Abu al-Bashar writes about Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) that
it was narrated from Hazrat Ubi bin Ka'b that the Messenger of Allah said: The
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that Hazrat Adam (peace
be upon him) was such a tall man that he was like a long palm tree. There was a
lot of hair on the head. Hazrat Saeed bin Jubayr says that the ground from
which Hazrat Adam was born is called Wahna, which means high ground. He says
that Hazrat Adam was named Adam (peace be upon him) because he was born from
the earth. And the name Insan was given because the forgetfulness happened to
them. Hazrat Abdullah Bin Masoud RA says that Allah sent Iblees, who took the
soil from every salty, sandy and fine place on the surface of the earth. Allah
created Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) from this soil. He who is born from
sweet earth is heaven, he who is born from salty or sandy soil will go to hell.
That is why Iblis said, "Should I prostrate to him whom you
have created from clay?" because Iblis had brought this clay. It was the
effect of this soil that there are red and white, black and medium skinned
among the descendants of Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him). There are easy and
hard, bad and good. It is narrated from Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib that the
Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that the people of
Paradise will be in such a state that they will have neither beard nor
moustache, curly hair, gray eyes, and will be 33 years old. The body will be
sixty cubits long and seven cubits wide. Like Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him).
(Taqabat Ibn Saad, page 50).
The first word spoken by Hazrat
Adam:
Hazrat
Abu Hurairah says that "For the first time, life entered the eye and
nostrils of Hazrat Adam, and when the spirit spread throughout his body, he
sneezed, by the command of Allah Ta'ala." He said, "Praise be to
God." This was the first praise of God that came out of his mouth. Then in
response, Allah said, "Yerhamak Rabk." That is, may the mercy of your
Lord be upon you.” (Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith No. 3368).
Characteristics of the
descendants of Adam:
It is
narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him
and grant him peace, said that when he created Hazrat Adam, Allah placed his
hand on his back, through which the descendants of Adam were revealed. All of
them were presented to Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him). Hazrat Adam (peace be
upon him) saw a person who had light between his two eyes. Asked, "O my
Lord! Who is this?" He said, "This is your son Dawood." He
asked, "How old will he be?" He said, "60 years." He said,
"My Lord! This is too little, do something more. Give him forty years of
my life." Allah extended the life of Hazrat Dawud (peace be upon him) by
forty years.
The total age of Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) was one
thousand years. When the nine hundred and sixty years were completed, Malik
Alamut appeared and said, "Let's go, your term in the world is over."
He said, "There are forty years left of my life." So you gave it to
Hazrat Dawud (peace be upon him), but Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) refused.
Even his children became disbelievers. They forgot Allah's instructions about
the forbidden trees in Paradise, so their children also forgot. The children of
Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) also became sinners. Imam Tirmidhi has declared
this hadith as Hasan Sahih. (Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith 3070).
Ibn Saad writes that Allah completed the one thousand years of
Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) and also gave Hazrat Dawud (peace be upon him)
one hundred years. This is the reason why the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings
of Allah be upon him) ordered to write down every promise and agreement.
Birth of Mother Eve:
In
Surat al-Nisa, Allah Almighty has said: “O people! Fear your Lord, Who created
you from a single soul, and created from it its wife, and from them many men
and women proliferate" (Surat al-Nisa, verse 1). Here, one soul refers to
Abu al-Bashar, Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) and Hazrat Hawa (peace be upon
him) is meant as a wife. How was Hazrat Hawa born from Hazrat Adam (peace be
upon him)? There is a difference of opinion among the commentators. Hazrat Abu Hurairah
narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)
said, "Always take care of my will concerning women, because women are
created from the rib." The rib also has the most crooked upper part.
If a person tries to make it perfectly straight, it will always
be broken and if he leaves it as it is, it will always be crooked. So, follow
my advice about women and treat them well.” (Sahih Bukhari 3331, 5186). Hazrat
Abdullah bin Abbas says: Hazrat Hawa (peace be upon him) was named Hawa because
she is the mother of every living human being. Hazrat Ibn Abbas (ra) says in
another tradition that Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) descended from Paradise
in India and Hazrat Hawa (peace be upon him) in Jeddah. Hazrat Adam (peace be
upon him) went in search of them and reached the place of gathering.
Hazrat Amman met her here, hence the name of this place was
"Muzdalifah". (Taqabat Ibn Saad, 57/1). Hazrat Gabriel (peace be upon
him) took Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) to Makkah. Where Hazrat Adam (peace
be upon him) built the Kaaba. The Black Stone, which he had brought with him
from Paradise, mounted it on the wall of the Kaaba, then circumambulated it.
After completing Tawaf, Hazrat Gabriel (peace be upon him) took him to Mount
Arafat. Here he met Hazrat Hawa. Scholars say that Adam (peace be upon him) was
brought down on the highest mountain of Sri Lanka (Sarandeep)
"Wasim". Thousands of years ago, this island was connected to the
southern part of India.
Ibn Battuta wrote in his travelogue that this Jabal Serandip is
one of the highest mountains in the world. There are two ways to reach Kadam
Sharif on this mountain. One is called the path of Baba Adam (peace be upon
him) and the other is called the path of Mother Eve (peace be upon him). The
sage path is very difficult. Qadam Sharif means the footprints of Baba Adam
(peace be upon him) are on a hard stone, which is eleven cubits long. There is
no evidence about this in the Qur'an and Hadith. This description has been
written by Ibn Battuta in his travelogue. Ibn Battuta lived in the subcontinent
from 1333 AD to 1342 AD during the reign of Muhammad Tughluq. Muhammad Tughlaq
appointed him as Qazi of Delhi. (Marks of the Qur'an, page 15).
Allah does not like pride and
arrogance:
The
mysteries of Allah's wisdom are infinite and innumerable. It is not possible
for any being in the universe, no matter how close he is, to know the secrets
of Allah. Even the angels, who are always engaged in worship in the presence of
Allah, could not understand the wisdom of Adam's caliphate and remained in awe
until the end. Creating Hazrat Adam (peace be upon him) from a handful of
rotting dust and occupying the Jalil-ul-Qadr position of Khalifatul-Allah and
giving him the great title of Ashraf-ul-Makhluq is the perfection of Rabb
Dhul-Jalal.
He gives honor to whom He wills, and disgraces whom He wills.
The Lord gave human being the highest honor including majesty and greatness,
but due to the defects of the weak in nature and physical strength, Hazrat Adam
(peace be upon him) suffered from forgetfulness and became a victim of Satan's
whispers. But it is also a fact that if the wrongdoer is inclined towards
regret and repentance with sincerity and honesty, then the door of mercy is
never closed. While Iblis's thousands of years of austerity and worship were
ruined by an incident of arrogance and disobedience and he was declared
apostate and thrown out of Paradise. Allah Ta'ala says that we do not need your
acts of worship, in which there is pride and arrogance. Undoubtedly, this
capital story is a hundred thousand lessons.
