THERE WAS NEVER THIS MAP OF THE WORLD
Homelessness
means being displaced from one's home or forced to flee one's own country and
territory. Crossing international borders to seek asylum in another country or
in a neighboring state. Usually people are first displaced from their homes in
their own country and then they are forced to become refugees.
A look
at 2023 shows that the world saw a large number of people displaced this year
as well. The largest number of them are Muslims. Apart from Muslims, people
from Ukraine and many countries of South America have been trying to settle in
other countries by emigrating and abandoning their homeland, as if
homelessness, asylum, migration and emigration are connected.
PALESTINE...
After
1948, in 2023, the greatest displacement of the Palestinian people took place.
First, Israel demanded the evacuation of northern Gaza and caused severe
destruction there, then it sent its forces to southern Gaza and ordered the
evacuation of other cities along with Gaza City.
Israel
does not care that 5.2 million Palestinians live in the 10 km wide and 40 km
long Gaza Strip with nowhere to go. These homeless people are also deprived of
water. Millions of women and children are yearning for drop by drop of water.
Hospitals, mosques, churches have all been destroyed. were made. In this way,
in terms of the number of homeless people in 2023 and the suffering they will
face, the region of Palestine has proved to be very unfortunate.
WORLD OVERVIEW…
According
to UN statistics, more than 11 million people will be displaced in 2023, more
than double the number compared to 2013 when 50 million people were displaced
worldwide. About 40 million people out of 11 million were forced to become
refugees, i.e. first displaced in their own country and then forced to cross
the border to take refuge in a foreign country.
Three-fourths
or seventy-five percent of these refugees belong to poor countries, thus it can
be estimated that homelessness, asylum and migration have been imposed on the
people of poor countries and rich countries are not affected by this scourge.
Not only the safe, but also the poor countries are largely responsible for this
plight because most of the brutality, conflict, violence and human rights
violations are somehow connected to the strategies of the rich and developed
countries.
Before
the recent destruction of Palestine, all the Western media focused on Ukraine,
where about six million people were said to be displaced. Along with them comes
the numbers of Syria and Afghanistan, where the number of homeless people is
also said to be around six million and these three rich countries have been
targeted.
UKRAINE…
Six
million people displaced in Ukraine in 2023 were displaced as a result of
Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Two million of them do not have access to basic
amenities and are subsisting on humanitarian food and water. Of the six
million, five million remain in Ukraine, but have been displaced, while one
million have become refugees in other countries.
This
whole problem started when Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022 and as a result of
fierce fighting, the number of displaced people increased by millions who
became refugees in Poland, Hungary, Malawi etc. Poland has received the highest
number of refugees, about sixty percent. stay The whole of Ukraine is mired in
a deep economic crisis, and the Western countries, especially the United
States, have their own arms and ammunition factories running well.
SYRIA...
Almost
ninety percent of the total population of Syria is forced to live below the
poverty line, they don't even know where and how they will get their next meal.
In Syria, 2 million children who are refugees are forced to miss education and
another 1.5 million children have difficulty going to school. Now it has been twelve
years since the civil war in Syria, but there is no improvement in the
situation.
There
are still more than five million Syrian refugees seeking help in other
countries, and many of them are women and children, as well as disabled people
who have been bombed or tortured in the civil war. Like Ukraine, Syria also
became a target of the warlike policy of the Western powers and especially the
United States.
AFGHANISTAN...
Afghanistan
ranks 180 on the scale of human development among 190 countries of the world.
This is the country which was used by the western countries especially America
in the war against the Soviet Union and made Pakistan their tool. Despite the
establishment of the Taliban government, there is no reduction in the number of
homeless people because there is no water, electricity, gas, roads and
education facilities.
Earlier,
in Ashraf Ghani's government, seventy-five percent of the government budget
came from aid funds, but due to the cessation of foreign aid, the Taliban
government now has no money to pay the salaries of government employees. In
2023, hundreds of Afghan families Having to leave Pakistan, they are in dire
straits in Afghanistan, as they now have no job opportunities and no homes to
live in.
SUDAN...
If you
look at Africa, Sudan has the highest number of homeless and refugees. About
five million people have been displaced due to the recent fighting, of which
fifteen million have migrated from other countries. In 2023, 30,000 people were
forced to leave their homes every day in Sudan, with a large number of them
forced to seek refuge in the countries of Chad and South Sudan.
The
strange thing is that now the main rivals of Sudan's civil war are the Sudanese
forces and Sudan's own paramilitary forces such as the Rangers. This civil war
started in April 2023 in which thousands of people have been killed. Almost
half of Sudan's population of 2.5 million are in urgent need of assistance.
Millions of people are forced to live in tents and others are forced to flee to
Egypt, Ethiopia, etc. Neighboring countries such as Chad and South Sudan are
among the poorest countries in the world and are in need of resources to deal
with the refugee problem, but Sudan's problem has been overshadowed by the
problems of Palestine and Ukraine.
ROHINGYA MUSLIMS...
When
the army persecuted Muslims in Burma or Myanmar, millions of Rohingya Muslims
were forced to leave their homes and became refugees in Bangladesh. Now these
people are fed up with unfavorable conditions and are forced to migrate and
leave their homeland and wander around thousands of miles in the open sea
sitting in helpless boats. Burma is not willing to grant citizenship to these
Rohingya Muslims even though they have been living there for centuries.
The
Burmese government calls them Bengali and chases them to Bangladesh. In
Bangladesh, these people either live in tents or stumble across the sea. About
12 million displaced and stateless Rohingyas left Burma and 90 percent sought
refuge in Bangladesh and Malaysia. Seventy-five percent of them are women and
children, who are now seen migrating in boats to Indonesia and Australia, and
hundreds have gone to sea.
MIGRATION FROM SOUTH AMERICA
South
America is a continent that has been under the influence of the United States
for centuries, but despite better relations with the United States, poverty and
helplessness are on the rise there. Every year, millions of people travel
thousands of miles north, crossing many countries and crossing deserts and
rivers to reach the US border, where the US has begun building a long, high
wall. Still, the migrants that these convoys continue to flow towards the US in
2023 and camp at the US border and cross the border into the US as soon as they
get a chance, where they are greeted by bloodthirsty dogs. Venezuela, El
Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras are particularly vulnerable to this problem,
with caravans of migrants making their way to the United States. Thus, the year
2023 has become a great year for refugees, migration and emigrants.
