HALWA' IS READY! ICHRA MARKET INCIDENT

 HALWA' IS READY

Thoughts are scattered and thinking is lost. We have come a long way in the journey back. To be honest, even in self-talk there is a tinge of despair and a tinge of hopelessness, but it is a sequence of events that is guarding the threshold of fear.

Despite the effort, the eyes of fear and terror in Achhra Market Lahore cannot be forgotten. A woman wearing a famous designer shirt from an Arabic brand would never have guessed that the bazaar bazaar crowd would pounce on her. What crime was the woman apologizing for under police custody, a question to be asked by the society and the state, not by anyone else?

While the bravery of the female police officer who rescued the victim amid the angry mob and provocative slogans is admirable, the woman apologizing to religious figures is another and horrifying picture. There is no need to find an answer to the question of when the contract of religion came into the hands of the so-called contractors and who gave it.

This is not just an incident, it is a punishment for feeling, for which there is no need of any court or the scope of any judge. Ask our society how easy it is to throw anyone in front of the crowd by accusing them of blasphemy.

Not many days ago, a decision of the Chief Justice of the country's highest court, which had absolutely nothing to do with the promotion of the Ahmadi sect, was targeted for a baseless campaign and was rejected without reading and thinking. It is enough to open the eyes.

Even the Chief Justice was not spared to achieve political goals and this fire of insults was spread through social media under specific ideological and reprehensible objectives. Whether his intention was to hand over the 'undesirable judge' to the mob needs to be investigated.

It should be remembered that earlier Punjab Governor Salman Taseer does not forget that he kept explaining that he was not guilty of any insult until his murder.

How long does it take for Majzoob to become a judge in a country where the judges of the high courts cannot escape the accusations of blasphemy? Blasphemy is a weapon that can be used by anyone, anywhere. This allegation is neither confirmed nor investigated. Neither evidence is sought nor statements are heard.

In the jails of the country, many Junaid Hafeez are disappointed by the courts for their innocence, many Mashal Khans of Pakhtunkhwa fall victim to fanaticism. If justice is not met, the crowd will not leave. Where do we stand, how did we get here and who is responsible, these questions are just questions and no one has the answer.

We didn't even get here like that. The way religion has been used to protect interests and politics under the guise of religion, it is a sign that extremism has reached its peak. The way the state has nurtured religious extremism and the way the 'religious touch' has been given for political purposes, now this button is available to everyone who can use it wherever they want, whenever they want.

Accusations of blasphemy are increasing in Punjab. Some specific groups have been strengthened and protected in the past, the results of which have started to come out now, but where will this process stop? What is its limit? If it is not remedied, this 'halwa' of extremism is ready.
